The drawback is that you are not making any lifestyle changes. As soon as you stop taking the supplements, the weight will come back since you haven't changed your diet or exercise. Plus, they can be dangerous if mis-used. Combining dietary supplements for immediate weight loss with diet and exercise for the long term may give you the best of both worlds.
